Description:
This is MPR121QR2 breakout plate. MPR121 is a capacitive touch sensor controller driven by an I2C interface. The chip can control up to 12 individual electrodes and a simulated 13th electrode. The MPR121 also has eight LED drive pins. When these pins are not configured with electrodes, they may be used to drive leds.
There are four jumpers at the bottom of the board, which are set by default (off). The address jumper binds the add pin to the ground, meaning the chip's default I2C address will be 0x5A. If you need to change the address of the chip (by shortening it to a different pin), make sure you turn on the jumper first. The jumper also connects SDA, SCL and interrupt pins to the 10k pull-up resistance. If you don't need to pull out the resistance, you can turn on the jumper by cutting off the trace that connects them.
There is no regulation on the board, so the voltage provided should be between 2.5vdc and 3.6vdc. The VREG pin is connected to the ground via a 0.1uF capacitor, which means you cannot operate MPR121 in low power voltage mode (1.71-2.75VDC) unless you modify the plate.
